- Shaft Preparation: Inspect and clean your arrow shaft thoroughly. Insert the arrow shaft into the jig and rotate the Tension Knob until the shaft is snug in the jaws (do not over-tighten).
- Vane Loading: Place your fletchings into the slots on the Fletching Arms and slide them toward the center until they reach the designated stop point.
- Adhesive Application: Apply small dots of fletching-specific glue across the base of each vane and spread into a thin, even layer.
- Engagement & Curing: Fold the arms upward toward the shaft and insert the Alignment Wedge fully until it seats and locks the arms in position. Hold for approximately 30 seconds (or per adhesive instructions), then remove the wedge and loosen the tension knob to release your arrow.
2. 3-Vane vs. 4-Vane Fletching Configuration & Adjustments
- Precision Fletching System 3 (3-Vane): Compatible with vanes up to 3.25" long for standard 2° helical inserts. Ideal for all-around hunting and 3D target setups with maximum rest clearance.
- Precision Fletching System 4 (4-Vane): Compatible with vanes up to 2.50" long for standard 2° helical inserts (longer vanes supported with lower helical inserts). Engineered for rapid broadhead stabilization in high-wind backcountry conditions.
- Nock Height Adjustment: Locate the small bolt in the bottom center of the jig. Using a 5/64 hex key, turn clockwise to lower the nock resting point or counter-clockwise to raise it, using the side indicator for repeatable precision.
3. Maintenance & Field Care
- 100% Acetone-Safe Removable Inserts: To clean heavy glue buildup inside the fletching channels, press upwards firmly on the arm inserts to pop them out of the top slot and soak only the inserts in acetone to restore a like-new finish.
- Main PCTG Body Care: Clean wet glue immediately after each arrow. Use isopropyl alcohol or a quick wipe with an acetone-dampened cloth on the main PCTG body—never submerge or soak the main jig frame, jaws, or wedge in acetone.
